Callaway High School recently hosted its third annual College and Careers Day in the Courtyard, which grows yearly. As part of Georgia Apply to College Week, this initiative invites students in grades 9-12 to connect with colleges, universities, and local businesses during lunch
This event was started to give students first-hand access to educational and career pathways directly from the colleges and employers—encouraging our seniors to apply and inspiring first-year students to juniors to think about their futures and ask essential questions early.
This year’s participants included Chick-fil-A (LaFayette Parkway), Diverse Power, Georgia High School Association, Hyundai-Transys, Milliken, and the Troup County School System. Colleges and universities represented were Columbus State, Columbus Technical College, Georgia Military College, Gordon State College, Grand Canyon University, LaGrange College, Point University, Southern Union State College, University of West Georgia and West Georgia Technical College. Representatives from the Marines and Navy were also on-site to discuss military careers.
This event offers students a unique chance to gather information, ask questions, and take those first steps toward the future, opening doors to the many pathways and connections ahead.
