Although the Royal Theater in Hogansville celebrated its grand reopening last Saturday, they took it a step further by joining the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday.

This wasn’t your typical ribbon cutting as the Royal Theater decided to kick things off in “royal’ fashion with a short film.

The film included clips of the musical performances from Saturday night’s grand reopening festivities along with clips of some of the evening’s attendees and a special thank you to all of the sponsors, groups and businesses that helped to make the reopening possible.

The clarity and sound of the film did not disappoint showing all that attended the ribbon cutting how well future film showings will look and sound.

Beginning this Saturday, with the showing of the movie Jaws, the theater plans to have weekly movie nights.

The theater will have live events beginning on Dec. 7 with Michelle Malone and the Hot Toddies and Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas”.

According to Hogansville Mayor Jake Ayers, there will also be a monthly community event held at the theater.

A person, group or business can even rent the theater space for a personal movie showing or special event.

The theater can seat up to 511 guests taking into consideration the multi-levels of chairs and the balcony area.

“Having the Royal Theater back open will have a lasting and significant impact on the community for decades to come.  I’m proud of the work that’s been done and grateful for the opportunity to showcase the Royal and all we are planning with members of the Troup County Chamber”, said Rob Dippel, Royal Theater Managing Director.

The Royal Theater is located in downtown Hogansville at 400 E Main St.
