The Troup County NAACP will help feed five local families with turkeys and all the fixings this Thanksgiving.

The meals were sponsored by Hall & Lampros, LLP, at the suggestion of the Troup NAACP in partnership with Kroger.

NAACP Education Chair Dr. Glenn Dowell said they are giving away the food in an effort for both Hall and Lampros and the NAACP to get more involved with the community.

“We’re going to feed five families. It’s more than just a turkey. They’ll get a full meal. Kroger is working with us in doing it and putting it together for us,” Dowell said.

Dowell said they are providing groceries for the families to cook for themselves on Thanksgiving.

Hall & Lampros is an Atlanta-based law firm that has been helping local residents with legal issues at the request of Troup NAACP.  The law firm was able to help a Callaway High student get a decision reversed after the Troup County School System expelled her for striking a teacher with a thrown cell phone, among other cases.

Since getting involved with the Troup NAACP, Hall & Lampros has opened a satellite office in LaGrange, where attorneys meet with residents to discuss legal issues on Thursdays.

The families are expected to pick up the food on Tuesday morning at the 301 W Broome Street satellite office in LaGrange.
