Suspect in LaGrange shooting arrested by Coweta officers following police chase

On December 17, 2024, at 1016 hours, LaGrange Police responded to 9 Handley Street in reference to a person who had been shot. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his body.
Officers applied a tourniquet to assist with lifesaving measures. The victim was transported via helicopter to an Atlanta-area hospital for further treatment. His injury did not appear to be life-threatening. The Criminal Investigations Division responded to the location and conducted an investigation. The FARO machine was utilized to map and scan the crime scene.
Detectives quickly obtained information about the vehicle the suspect was driving and the suspect’s name, Dequindre Langston. Detectives issued a BOLO for the vehicle and Langston to surrounding agencies.
At 11:07 a.m., The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office’s Crime Suppression Unit located the vehicle and identified another vehicle which appeared to be with the suspect vehicle. Deputies attempted to stop both vehicles at which time a Dodge Durango, occupied by Langston, began to flee from deputies. Coweta County Deputies performed the P.I.T. Maneuver, and the pursuit terminated. Deputies took Langston into custody. Detectives from the LaGrange Police Department have responded to the area of Coweta County where the pursuit terminated to continue their investigation.

Dequindre Langston was also wanted for Aggravated Assault and Strong-Arm Robbery related to an incident that occurred at 404 Town Center Drive on August 27, 2024, which was investigated by Detective Shaw, reference LPD case # 2024-08-4035.
Dequindre Langston was also wanted for Felony Battery (FVA), Criminal Trespass and Cruelty to a Child 3rd Degree related to an incident that occurred at 1217 Lindsey Street on March 30, 2024, which was investigated by Detective Hackett, reference LPD case # 2024-03-4512.
