On December 18th at 10:00 PM, deputies with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a home in the 4500 block of Hammett Road reference to someone that had been shot. Once on scene they made contact with an adult male who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot to his arm and possibly the upper body.

Investigators arrived a short time later and after speaking with the victim he told them that he was traveling in a car driven by another individual when another vehicle who he was not able to identify, pulled up behind them and began shooting multiple rounds inside the car striking the victim. The other car then sped away from the location.

The victim was taken to a Columbus area hospital for treatment. If anyone has any information on this incident please call 706-883-1616.
