Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Troup alum Mar’Quavious Moss’  time in the transfer portal is over as the former University of West Georgia football player announced his next destination: Kansas State

Moss (Troup class of ‘23) will be joining a team that is currently 8-4 and preparing for a date with Rutgers in the Date Bowl on Dec. 26. Kansas State is 47–28 in six years under current head coach Chris Klieman. The Wildcats won the Big 12 Championship in 2022.

Moss, a defensive back, transferred from Dodge City Community College to play one season for the Wolverines of West Georgia. During his lone season in Carrollton, he racked up 56 tackles, nine tackles for a loss, and 4.5 sacks.

Moss has gotten even bigger and stronger since leaving Troup County and is listed at 6’2, 185 lbs.

Before heading to the college ranks, Moss did it all for the Troup Tigers. He was named the athlete of the year for Region 4-4A during his senior year for his play on offense, defense and special teams. Moss was used as a kick returner during his lone season at West Georgia.

During his senior season at Troup, Moss totaled 877 receiving yards, 99 rushing yards and 12 total touchdowns to go along with 24 total tackles, a sack and an interception on defense.

As a senior, Moss was instrumental in Troup winning its first region title in 35 years and helped lead the team to an appearance in the 4A GHSA state semifinals.

Moss also held offers from Tulane, Virginia, Georgia Southern and Houston among other offers after entering his name into the portal. Moss had no shortage of offers and chose Kansas State.
