Xae Anderson’s all-time junior season at Callaway High School just keeps getting better. The linebacker/tight end was deservedly named to the AA All-State defensive team. Anderson was not the only Cavalier defender to get noticed as junior defensive lineman Tyrone Fitten was also named for the honorable mention list.
Anderson was a tackling machine for the Cavaliers. The two-way stud was named the region’s defensive player of the year for the work he did as a linebacker this season. He led the team with 130 tackles while also accumulating five tackles for a loss, four sacks, three PBUs and two interceptions. Anderson already holds offers from Vanderbilt and Navy among other schools.
Anderson also got it done on offense, catching four touchdowns and was always a willing blocker in the run game. The junior’s leadership was key for the Cavaliers this past season and he will be expected to continue that role into 2025.
Fitten had a breakout junior season to earn himself a Division I offer from Appalachian State. Fitten led the Cavaliers in sacks (5) while also generating 57 tackles and six tackles for a loss. Fitten was recently named the defensive MVP for the FCA All-Star game and to the All-Region first team.
