Wind advisory issued for West Georgia until Monday morning

On Sunday at 4:03 p.m. a wind advisory was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until Monday at 10 a.m. The advisory is for North Fulton and South Fulton as well as Dade, Walker, Catoosa, Whitfield, Murray, Fannin, Gilmer, Union, Towns, Chattooga, Gordon, Pickens, Dawson, Lumpkin, White, Floyd, Bartow, Cherokee, Forsyth, Hall, Jackson, Polk, Paulding, Cobb, Gwinnett, Barrow, Clarke, Oconee, Haralson, Carroll, Douglas, DeKalb, Rockdale, Walton, Newton, Morgan, Heard, Coweta, Fayette, Clayton, Spalding, Henry, Butts, Jasper, Troup, Meriwether, Pike, Upson, Lamar, Monroe, Harris, Talbot and Muscogee counties.
The NWS adds, “South winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 35 mph or greater.”
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” states the NWS. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
