Troup County, Ga. January 14, 2025 – In late December 2024, the Troup County Marshal’s Office received information regarding the welfare of multiple dogs at a single location, leading to the investigation of a potential dog fighting ring in Troup County.

On January 9, 2025, a warrant was executed at 1368 S. State Line Road, which appeared to be the location of a breeding operation for organized dog fighting. Fourteen dogs, as well as various instruments used for dog fighting breeding and conditioning, were found at the scene.

Jamal Ware, 44, was arrested onsite and charged with Dogfighting and Cruelty to Animals.

The Troup County Marshal’s Office would like to thank the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, LaGrange Police Department, LaGrange Animal Control, and Prosecuting Attorneys’ Councils of Georgia for their assistance in this case thus far, as this is an ongoing investigation.
