The Troup County School System released a statement, saying all schools would be canceled on Thursday, Jan. 23.
From TCSS:
The Troup County School System will be closed on Thursday, January 23, 2025. This decision was made in consultation with local emergency management officials due to:
Impassable roads: Numerous roads within the county remain impassable.
Continued hazardous conditions: Freezing temperatures are expected overnight
School Closures and Cancellations:
All schools: Closed.
District offices: Closed.
Field trips: All scheduled for Thursday, January 23rd, are canceled.
After-school activities: Canceled, including all athletics.
Friday’s Status: A decision regarding school on Friday, January 24th, will be announced on Thursday.
School Board Meetings:
Work Session: Rescheduled to Tuesday, January 28th at 2:00 PM.
Regular Meeting: Rescheduled for Tuesday, January 28th at 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM.
School board recognitions will take place at 4:00 PM.
