On January 19 and 26, 2025, The LaGrange Police Department completed crime suppression operations aimed at addressing criminal activity in targeted areas of the city. The operations were launched in response to an uptick in criminal activity, including violent offenses and property crimes. These operations were led by the department’s Criminal Investigations Division, along with the Special Investigations Unit, and included uniformed patrol officers and detectives. They worked tirelessly to reduce the impact of these offenses on the community and ensure public safety.

Key outcomes from the operations included:

  • Three arrests, including individuals wanted for outstanding warrants and various criminal offenses. One of these arrests was made following a vehicle pursuit and the offender was a suspect in shootings from LaGrange, Newnan, and Meriwether County.
  • Seizure of a firearm and the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
  • Eight field interviews and improved visibility and police presence in high-crime areas to deter further illegal activity.
  • Community engagement efforts to foster stronger partnerships with residents and local organizations, ensuring sustainable crime reduction strategies.

These operations are part of an ongoing commitment to public safety and crime prevention. The police department will continue to collaborate on intelligence-sharing and resource deployment, ensuring a rapid and effective response to criminal activity in LaGrange
