The Troup girls rolled over Whitewater on Tuesday for a 60-28 victory.
The Tigers controlled the game from the opening tip and never looked back. By the end of the first quarter Troup had taken a commanding 23-8 lead. It only got better from there as the Tigers poured it on and left little doubt about the outcome long before the final buzzer rang.
Alexcia Murphy was her usual dominant self and finished with 18 points — all in the first three quarters of play. Murphy was not alone in her dominance — Angie Dowdell also finished as the joint highest scorer in the game with 18 points. The junior continues to elevate her game in recent weeks and take command of the Tiger offense.
Sheniyah Philpot had a good game offensively as well, finishing with 10 points — all in the first half.
The Troup defense was equally as impressive as the offense with the Tigers never allowing the Wildcats to score double figures in a single quarter on Tuesday.
Troup has now won two in a row to get back to .500 (10-10 overall and 5-5 in region play). The Tigers have another big region clash on Friday on the road to Riverdale.
