LaGrange took a tough 86-67 region loss to Fayette County on Tuesday.
The Grangers trailed by seven points at the end of the first quarter. LaGrange could not cut into the lead in the second quarter as the deficit swelled to 13 points. It did not get better for the Grangers from there as their defense could not slow down Fayette County all night.
LaGrange found no way back into the game in the second half.
BJ Wortham finished as the team’s leading scorer in the game with 14 points. Devin Dowell scored 12 while Garrett Jacobsen finished with 10 points to round out the Grangers in double figures for scoring in the game. The Grangers had 11 total players score in the game as the team deployed some players from deeper on the bench once the game was no longer in the balance in the second half.
LaGrange fell to 17-5 overall and 8-3 in region play. The Grangers are currently second in the region standings and will be back in action in a touch region matchup against Starr’s Mill on Friday.
