The LaGrange Police Department is investigating an incident where a teen was shot multiple times in the Daniel St. area.

Late Wednesday night, about 11:47 p.m., LaGrange Police hours were called to the WellStar West Georgia Medical Center about a person who had been shot.

Police spoke with the 17-year-old victim who was being treated in the emergency room for multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim told police that he was walking on Daniel St. when he heard gunshots and was hit by several rounds to the back side of his body.

The victim stated he did not see any shooters in the area and he escaped by running to a nearby house and contacting a family member who took him to the hospital.

According to an LPD press release, no suspects have been identified for the shooting.

This incident is still under investigation by the LaGrange Police Department Criminal  Investigations Section.
