A child was injured when the driver of a Honda Pilot overcorrected and struck a ditch Thursday. According to Georgia State Patrol’s preliminary investigation, the 4-year-old child was not properly restrained in the rear seat and was ejected from the vehicle. The child sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Egleston in Atlanta.

According to GSP, the driver was charged with several offenses including DUI.

The accident happened on Hogansville Rd when the vehicle ran off the roadway, crossing the roadway after the driver overcorrected. The vehicle then struck a ditch causing the vehicle to spin out of control, coming to rest in the middle of the roadway.

The incident is still under investigation by GSP and the full accident report not yet complete.
