Detectives with the LaGrange Police Department are investigating a rash of entering autos reported throughout neighborhoods and apartment complexes on the northeast side of the city.
Police responded to the Woodland Trail Apartment complex at 140 North Davis Road about 5 a.m. Monday.
A couple told officers their vehicles had been entered sometime during the night, along with one other vehicle they noticed still had its dome light on.
The couple’s truck was broken into, but nothing was taken, stated police. A Smith and Wesson .40 caliber pistol worth an estimated $500 was stolen from the couple’s second car.
Two more cars were also found to have been entered by suspects after officers drove through the complex, bringing the total number of breaks-ins to four, police said.
More reports of vehicles being entered were discovered at the Whispering Pines Apartment Complex at 1515 Hogansville Road, LaGrange police stated.
