Arthur Dale Trask, Sr. of LaGrange, Georgia (Nov. 16, 1946 – April 26, 2023).
Art was the son of Don and Marie Trask of Byron, Georgia.
Art was born in Lake Village, Arkansas. He was the oldest of four brothers.
He is survived by Dennis Trask of Tampa, Florida, Roger Trask of LaGrange, Georgia, and Randy Trask of Macon, Georgia.
He spent most of his childhood in Memphis, Tennessee where he graduated high school. He later received his Associates Degree from Florida College in Temple Terrace, Florida.
Soon after college, Art and his family moved to Macon, Georgia where he met the love of his life, Bonita Carol Sherrer of Warner Robins, Georgia. Art and Carol moved to LaGrange after their marriage in 1968 to manage and later own and operate the Greyhound Bus Station for over 40 years.
Art’s love for Jesus and his family was always first. He was a member and elder of the Broad Street Church of Christ since moving to LaGrange in the late 1960’s. Art made sure to put Jesus first. He made sure his wife and children were at church on Wednesday night and twice on Sunday no matter how tired they were.
Art Trask was well known and loved by his community. He gave everything he had to family, friends, and even strangers that came into the Greyhound Bus Station.
Art was also a member of the LaGrange Kiwanis Club. After retiring and selling the Greyhound Bus Station, Art was not one to sit around. Art continued serving his community as a Troup County school bus driver. He drove his school bus for over 10 years caring for the children in the school system. Art is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bonita “Carol” Trask and three children; daughter Melissa Trask Raines (Randy Raines) of Nashville Tennessee, son Arthur Dale Trask, Jr. (Amanda Thomas Trask) of Castle Pines, Colorado, son James Trask (Clarinda Phillips Trask) of Fayetteville, Georgia.
Art is also survived by nine grandchildren: Cara Pierce (Daniel Pierce), Campbell Brown, Riley Trask, Owen Trask, Laney Trask, Peyton Trask, Levi Trask, Logan Trask, and Leslie Trask. Great grandchildren: Ruby, Silas, and Jude Pierce. A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 3 P.M. at Broad Street Church of Christ in LaGrange, Georgia.
