Bo Beall, LaGrange High’s valedictorian, said to learn he earned the title.

“This is something I’ve been working toward since my sophomore year. It’s kind of relief as well knowing that your hard has finally paid off,” Beall said.

During his time in high school, Beall was involved in many organizations, including cross country, soccer and service club.

As graduation quickly approaches, Beall said he will miss all of his friends and the sports he was able to participate in.

“I’ve made a lot of great friends on and off the field. Going from seeing them all the time to not as much will be weird,” Beall said. “As of late, I have been napping in my free time and doing a lot of soccer. Our season just ended, and I’m looking forward to hanging out with my friends more after school.”

During the 2022-2023 soccer season, Beall played a large role in helping the Grangers earn a region championship and a deep playoff run to the Elite Eight.

As Beall pens his speech as valedictorian, he said he has been watching old graduation speeches from previous valedictorians.

“I have watched a good few and have some ideas on where I want to take my own speech,” Beall said.

Beall said he credits his parents, Bowen and Sarah Beall, for his academic success.

“My parents helped mold me into the person that I am today. Without them, I probably wouldn’t be here or have the opportunities I’ve been blessed to have,” Beall said.

After graduation, Beall said he plans to attend Auburn University to major in biology on a pre-dental track.

“I want to go to dental school. After dental school, I’m hoping to go further and get a surgical license,” Beall said.

As Beall prepares to leave LHS, he advises the class of 2024 of a few things.

“Don’t slack off too much and have the ambition to continue your scholastics. Go to college and get an education,” Beall said.
