On Monday, Dunkin’ Donuts held a soft opening for its newest location at 217 New Franklin Road. This location is located in the building that once was home to the Miami Made Fish and Chicken restaurant.

There are now three Dunkin locations in LaGrange, with the others being in Great Wolf Lodge at 150 Tom Hall Parkway, and the other being at 1740 Lafayette Parkway

Daniel Dan, district manager, said he feels excited about the new opening.

“I’ve been waiting for the store to open for about three months. Now that the store is actually open it feels good, and we are going to be very good in business,” Dan said. “I feel like it’s going to be an amazing store to have, especially with all the employees that I have who are so friendly and positive. It brings in a good environment because I see all the customers getting to know all of them. Hopefully, those customers come back tomorrow with their families and friends.”

Dan said he has worked for Dunkin for 13 years and feels the company has helped him grow both personally and professionally.

“I grew with the company. I didn’t just become a manager from outside they groomed me from within, and it has been worth it,” Dan said. “I think all of us were waiting for us to open. Now that the headache is finally gone, we’re open and ready to serve LaGrange.”

As the location opens, Dan said the main focus is to train all employees.

“Today was a soft launch to see how well we work under pressure, how they can transition with customers from front counters to drive through friendliness,” Dan said. “It ran very well today, not as busy as we expected it to be, but that’s because we want to make sure our customers know that we are open, that’s why we’re slowly getting into it.”

Dan said as business starts to build, they have been met with a warm reception from the community.

“Most of the customers are starting to see that we are open and starting to come in. They have been very friendly and love the fact that we’re open now,” Dan said.

As of now, there isn’t a set grand opening for the new location, but Dan estimates it to be 30 days after the soft opening.
