As the seasons cycle through the year, dogs tethered to a trolley find themselves in a dire and unchanging predicament. Even though LaGrange and Troup County have taken steps to prohibit the use of chains, dogs are still being restrained by trolleys, which is equally distressing and cruel. The heartbreaking reality of dogs being bound and tied up daily is a truly tragic sight to behold. These innocent creatures are left outside in extreme weather conditions without access to proper veterinary care, toys, or even other dogs to play with. The stark reality is that these dogs are alone and isolated, subjected to a cruel and unfortunate fate. Their cries for help go unheard, and their pain is ignored, leaving them to suffer in silence.

It is disheartening to see such an outdated and inhumane practice still in existence in a world that claims to be advanced. These dogs are deprived of clean food and water, living in squalid and unsanitary conditions with no green grass or open spaces. 

The emotional impact on these poor animals is unquantifiable, leaving them feeling isolated, lonely, and abandoned. They are often referred to as “lawn ornaments” as they are treated as a part of the yard rather than a part of the family, which is heartbreaking to witness.

As social creatures, dogs thrive in a pack, so why do we permit them to be treated inhumanely?  It is time for society to take a stand against such practices and demand that our furry friends be treated with the love, care and respect they deserve. The time has come to end this archaic practice and ensure that our beloved companions receive the proper care and attention they require. These animals never experience the warmth of love and care they rightly deserve. Is it just and fair to subject dogs to a lifetime of neglect and misery? We must come together as a society to create awareness and educate. It is up to us to be their voice and advocate for their well-being to ensure they never suffer in silence again. As a citizen of Troup County, I am unwavering in my dedication to championing the well-being of tethered dogs. It is a calling that I cannot ignore. My heart and soul are bound to this noble cause, and I will continue to fight tirelessly for those who cannot fight for themselves.
