After four years in office, Hogansville City Council member Toni Striblin will not be seeking reelection to her Post 4 council seat.

Striblin said she is looking forward to a slower pace in life beyond local politics.

“I am leaving Seat 5 for someone else to be elected to help our city continue to flourish.  It is a huge commitment and very challenging. I have done my very best, and I am happy,” Striblin said.

Striblin said she has achieved what she promised over the last four years including a cleaner city, safer streets, a focus on real fixes for broken infrastructure a balanced budget, an administration that knows Hogansville and a fully-staffed, community-minded police department. She said plans are also in the works for completing the remodel of the Royal Theater and an amphitheater and parks for Hogansville.

During her time as councilwoman, Striblin has championed Hogansville, its local businesses and economic growth.

“I have focused on our positives and share with everyone the new experiences through our Alive After 5 events, our shopping and dining opportunities. The Drive Bar and The Grand Hotel are such great places to stay and play that are now open and ready to serve. These types of businesses have spurred more economic development. Our longtime businesses have stayed strong like our [restaurants], Roger’s BBQ in Hogansville and the original Karvelas Pizza,” Striblin said.

Striblin also lauded local businesses like William And Mary’s and Born Again, Twin Mill’s Winery, Grand Market and Cafe, Kietra’s Boutique, Travis Woodworking, Eagle River Forge, The Sweetery Candy Store, Blue Train Books, Barraca’s Plants, Mute Coffee, Hometown Quilt Shop, West Georgia Wholesale, Mezza’s Tattoo and W Crew Cigar Shop for helping Hogansville thrive.

“These last four years have contributed to good growth with an improvement in quality of life and that will continue,” Striblin said. “This has all been a collaborative effort from solid plans that we have worked together as mayor, council, administration and all other committees within our city to have good things happen.”

“It has truly been an honor and privilege to serve Hogansville.  I thank everyone that voted for me and has prayed for me and for Hogansville and has helped along the way. Hogansville has a bright future,” Striblin said.
