Kayak event, poker run to benefit cancer patient

The Kayak Parade for Kim with Poker Run is set for Aug. 27 at the Downtown River Park in West Point. The event will benefit breast cancer patient Kim Murphy. Entrants are asked to decorate their kayaks and wear pink. Registration and shuttles will run 10—11:30 a.m. Cost is $20 per boat entered. Entrants provide their own boats, but a limited number will be available for rent for $50 from Great Lakes and Land Co. The poker run is $10 for those who choose to participate and prizes will be awarded for best, second best and worst hands.
