CSX plans to temporarily close the railroad crossing on Main Street in Hogansville on Friday.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has coordinated with CSX for a planned railroad crossing closure on Main Street and SR 100/SR 54. The closing will be on Nov. 3.

CSX will close the railroad crossing for planned maintenance. Traffic control and detours will be provided to the public during the crossing closure.

The plan is to close the crossing at 9 a.m. after school has started. The work is expected to take 5 to 9 hours to complete.

All work on the crossing is being done by CSX, according to Gina L. Snider, GDOT District Communications Officer.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and asked to exercise caution and reduce their speed when driving near the work zone.
