The LaGrange football team was well represented on the region 4-4A All-Region teams with 17 total players making the lists, including seven on the first team. 

Parker Shattuck, JT Burks, JJ Johnson, Malik Kemp, Steven Hill, Jaden Ligon and Jycel Mosley all made the first team.

Mosley and Ligon earned their spots with their work along the offensive line. Mosley is no stranger to personal accolades as he has already been named a two-time All-State player. Ligon is committed to playing football at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. The two helped the team rush for over 2,000 yards and nearly 2,000 yards passing this season.

Malik Kemp, the team’s starting quarterback, played just one season at LaGrange but made a big impact. He threw for nearly 2,000 yards with 25 combined touchdowns. 

Stene Hill had a breakout senior season and led the team with over 600 yards and seven receiving touchdowns despite missing a couple of games in the regular season. 

Shattuck was a dominant two-way player but made the team as a defensive lineman, Shattuck could also drop into coverage and had a big interception against Troup this season. He is committed to playing football at South Alabama. Johnson was the standout in the Grangers’ secondary while Burks was the heart of the defense at linebacker. Burks was second on the team in tackles with over 60 combined.

The second team was comprised of 10 Grangers — Noah Outland, Yashawn Butler, Kayden Sutton, Denorayon Reid, Tayshon Lemon, KT Owens, Carson Shattuck, Malachi Kemp, Jonathon Keys and Mason Calhoun.

Malachi, like his twin brother Malik, only played one season at LaGrange, but his impact was also felt. Unlike his brother, Malachi played both sides of the ball and earned the second-team nod at tight end. He, Carson Shattuck and Owens — both offensive linemen — were key reasons the Grangers rushing attack was so potent this season as the team averaged nearly six yards per carry.

Keys earned his spot at running back, rushing for over 500 yards. He will return for his season season where big things will be expected from him.

Reid and Lemon both earned spots on the team as wide receivers and finished second and third on the team, respectively, in receiving yards.

Noah Outland and Yahsawn Butler caused opposing quarterbacks a ton of problems from their defensive line spots. Outland led the team in tackles and sacks despite being just a sophomore. Butler had five sacks of his own.

Sutton led the team with two interceptions this season in the secondary to earn his spot on the second team.

Calhoun, a sophomore, stepped in as kicker for the Grangers after Samuel Rodas picked up an injury and was aces. 

Linebackers Harris Grace, JD McCutheon and Carter Lay all made the honorable mention list as did running backs Caydin Thomas and Gavin Barlow. Gryson Cockrell, Nazir Garrett, Kelijah Parks and Clanton Reisinger also made the honorable mention list.
