Two suspects were arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly stealing a vehicle that had children inside.
The suspects drove around the area and ended up behind the Jesus Christ House of Prayer and Revival Center located on Whitesville Road. The two suspects, identified as 36-year-old Kevin Cumens and 33-year-old Calvin Bell, were arrested within minutes, according to a press release from the LaGrange Police Department. They were both charged with entering an auto.
According to Sgt. Robert Hall, the mother left the children in the car to briefly go into a local convenience store at the Whitesville Place shopping center.
The suspects drove around the area and ended up behind the church located on Whitesville Road.
“Thanks to local security cameras, we were able to locate the vehicle and find a description of the two males,” Hall said.
According to police, the children are safe and reunited with their mother.
