Holiday closures and trash pickup delays

With Christmas and New Year’s coming up government agencies throughout have announced closures for the holidays. 

 

LAGRANGE

The City of LaGrange will be closed for business on Monday, Dec. 25, and Tuesday, Dec. 26 for the Christmas holiday.  City offices will also be closed on Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

Garbage pickup will not run on Christmas Day for LaGrange residents and will be pushed back one day from normal pickup days restarting on Tuesday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 29.

Garbage pickup will also not run on Monday, Jan. 1. Pickup will also be pushed back one day for New Year’s week. Pickup will run Tuesday, Jan. 2 through Friday, Jan. 5.

The LaGrange Police Department will remain open for both holidays.

 

HOGANSVILLE 

Similarly in Hogansville, city offices will be closed for Christmas Day and the following day on Dec. 26. The City of Hogansville will also be closed on Jan. 1.

Trash pickup will also not run on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day and will be delayed a day throughout the week.

The Hogansville Police Department will remain open for both holidays.

 

WEST POINT

West Point city offices will also be closed for two days for Christmas Dec. 25-26 and New Year’s on Jan. 1.

There will also be no trash pickup on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, with pickup being delayed by one day.

The West Point Police office will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 but walk-up customers can still be connected to police dispatch via a call-box at the front door. Police can also be reached via 911 in the event of an emergency.

 

TROUP COUNTY

The Troup County Government Center will be closed on Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1.

Trash pickup with Martin Environmental Services will be unaffected.

The Troup County Sheriff’s Office will be closed to walk-ins on Christmas and New Year’s, but deputies will still be available in the event of an emergency by calling 911.
