UPDATE: GSP provides details on fatal West Point Road collision

The Georgia State Patrol has provided an update on the investigation of the deadly crash on West Point Road that killed a currently identified driver and injured another.
Around 6:40 a.m. Thursday morning, Georgia State Troopers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on West Point Road (SR29) at Lambert Road.
According to the preliminary investigation information from GSP, a Honda Pilot was traveling south on SR29 and a GMC Yukon was traveling north on SR29. GSP says the driver of the Honda Pilot, failed to maintain their lane of travel and crossed the center line, striking the GMC Yukon head-on.
The driver of the Honda Pilot driver succumbed to injuries sustained during the crash at the scene. The Troup County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased as Lakesia Tucker, 45, of LaGrange.
The driver of the GMC Yukon, Eddie Story, was transported to Columbus Midtown with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is assisting with the investigation.
