The Callaway girls soccer team kicked off its season with a bang on Thursday, defeating Creekside 5-0.
Autumn Brown unlocked the defense in the opening minute to give the Cavaliers and early 1-0 lead. Brown was not done there, adding a goal in the second minute and an assist in the ninth. Unfortunately, she was subbed out with an injury and did not return to the game.
Senior Mary Kate Baswell, fresh off committing to play soccer at LaGrange College, scored a goal in the ninth and 18th minute while also assisting Brown’s opening goal.
Freshman Sofia Flores got her first start and her first goal for her debut with the Cavaliers.
Freshman Katie Beth Bass made one save to get a clean sheet on her debut.
