The Callaway boys soccer team clinched its first home playoff game since 2022 with their 10-0 demolition job of Columbia on Thursday.
Senior Greyson Batchelor opened the scoring with a goal in the fifth minute before adding a second a minute later. Batchelor was at the heart of all things good for Callaway on Thursday and finished with five goals and an assist.
Jayden Bailey had a good game in the midfield, scoring a goal in the 10th minute to make it 3-0 while also providing three assists on the night.
Sophomore forward Rickey Vaughn scored a couple of goals, including one in the 45th minute to end the game by mercy rule.
Journee Jordan also got on the score sheet with a goal. Andre Molina and Vaughn had an assist each.
Brayden Morris kept his fifth clean sheet of the season in goal.
Callaway has now won seven games in a row to improve to 10-3 overall and 5-0 in region play. The Cavaliers will have a showdown against Landmark Christian on the road Tuesday to decide the region championship.
