Troup alum Noah Dixon got his first taste of college action on Saturday. The Clemson freshman strapped up his pads for the spring game and played for team white in a 27-12 victory.

Dixon got into the game and was able to register three total tackles and a pass breakup. His pass breakup came late in the fourth quarter to keep a touchdown off the board.

This was the next big step for Dixon, who early enrolled at Clemson in January. 

“The principals that Clemson has really connected with me and my family,” Dixon told the LDN at his signing day in December. “When me and my mom stepped on campus it felt right. I could have gone anywhere else, but Clemson always felt different.”

Dixon will be battling it with some experienced safeties on the Clemson roster for playing time. Senior R.J Mickens and sophomore Kylan Griffey figure to be the starters, but with Dixon’s play in the spring game he could figure into the equation at safety at some point in 2024.

Life comes at you fast as it was only four months ago that he was playing in his final game in blue and gold.

Dixon finished third on the team in tackles and had an interception to his name on the defensive side of the ball during his final season with Troup. He was named athlete of the year in Region 4-4A for his play.

Dixon did not just make an impact on defense and finished the season as the team’s leading receiver with 483 yards while also adding 182 yards on the ground and 15 total touchdowns en route to an All-State selection. 

Summer will be full of workouts and prep as Dixon edges closer to his collegiate debut which could come back in the Peach State when Clemson takes on the University of Georgia in Atlanta on Aug. 31.
