Wednesday’s 4A state quarterfinal matchup between North Hall and LaGrange at Granger Park was one for the books. The Grangers were left heartbroken as the Trojans took a 3-2 win and a spot in the final four.

The match truly came down to the wire as the teams were 2-2 as LaGrange’s Benjamin Lee and Shun Seol went toe to toe with North Hall’s Easton McNair and James Floyd in the third set tiebreak. North Hall won the first three games to take a commanding lead. The Grangers won three of the next four games to trail 4-3. LaGrange could not break again and the team traded games until North Hall hit an ace to win 6-4 and head to the state semifinals.

It was high-level tennis at McCluskey Tennis Center with neither team giving an inch.
