Troup County Sheriff’s Investigators are investigating a late-night murder that occurred over the weekend.
TCSO has identified the female victim as 41-year-old Taneshia Bridges.
The investigation began Saturday, April 27, around 2:11 a.m. when Troup County sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence in the 600 block of Teaver Road in reference to reports of a person who had been shot and was not breathing.
Deputies arrived less than two minutes after the call and found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound.
Lifesaving measures were attempted by deputies, including CPR, until fire and ambulance personnel arrived and took over care of the victim.
The victim was transported to Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center where she passed away.
Multiple shell casings were found outside the home, which investigators believe indicate that a person or persons shot from the outside striking the victim who was inside. At the time of the shooting, another female adult and a small child were also inside the home.
No further information has been provided and no suspect has been named at this time.
This case is still under active investigation by the Troup County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
