Richard Eugene Rogers, age 69, of Pine Mountain, passed away on May 5, 2024.
He was born on Aug. 23, 1954, to the late Odus Rogers and Mary Jones Rogers in Roanoke, Alabama.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his children, Harvey Lee Rogers and Tandy Jean Burdette; siblings, Glenn Rogers, Kenneth Rogers, and Joseph Rogers.
Richard, a devoted Christian man who always went out of his way to help others, was a dedicated paramedic in Harris County.
His passion was truly helping those in need, which became his lifelong goal. Throughout his distinguished career, he served as a firefighter, EMT, lieutenant, and a paramedic in Troup County, Heard County, Muscogee County, and Harris County.
A loving family man, Richard will be deeply missed as a husband and father, especially as “Paw Paw” to his grandchildren.
Survivors include his spouse, Peggy “Day” Blackstone Rogers; siblings, Junior Rogers, Jane Folds, Jean Conger Sparks, and Reuben “Buddy” Rogers; grandchildren, Devon Cole, Montana Cole, Donnie Cole, Cody Cole, and River Ball; great-grandchildren, August Cole; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 2 P.M.
The family will then have an additional memorial service at New Vision Ministries in Hawkinsville, Georgia at a later date.
