EDITOR’S NOTE: These results do not include 381 absentee by mail voting. These were the total number of votes received by 12:30 a.m. ET, at the time of print. Final results can be found on lagrangenews.com as they become available.
With only absentee ballots left to be counted incumbent Lewis Davis is the presumptive winner of the Troup County Board of Commissioners District 3 Republican primary, however, the race is likely headed to a runoff.
Davis received 1,030 (44.5%) of the 2,315 in-person votes, followed by Rex Scott’s 575 (24.8%), Ashley Adams (22.6%), and TC Nixon’s 187 (8%).
As of midnight on election night, the outstanding ballots could put Davis over the 50-percent threshold to win the seat outright or force a runoff between either Scott or Adams on June 18, 2024.
