Legendary LaGrange High linebacker Tray Blackmon was inducted into the Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame on Wednesday morning. He is one of just 30 players voted in for this year.
Blackmon’s legacy with the Grangers speaks for itself. He was the Player of the Year in AAA during his senior season in 2004 in which he led the Grangers to a state championship. Blackmon had 116 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 12 Sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, one safety, and one defensive touchdown that season.
Blackmon also led the team to a state championship as a junior in 2003, being named the AAA defensive player of the year. He was named to the AJC All-State team in his final two seasons with LaGrange.
Blackmon was a five-star linebacker coming out of high school and went on to play three seasons for Auburn before going on to briefly play in the Canadian Football League. Blackmon was a second-team All-Freshman for his 2006 season with the Tigers.
