JC Movers & Senior Transitions held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday. The moving company hopes to be the movers of choice for LaGrange, as new housing developments go up and the city grows.
Started by Jimmy Caldwell, the venture is aimed at all demographics while emphasizing senior transitions. Caldwell and his team do residential and commercial moves, will pad and wrap furniture and household goods, load and unload, as well as unpack and reset the home.
“And I’ve been moving furniture for 10 years and that’s my side hustle winning always has been…I was like ‘Well, you know, it’s time to launch JC Movers,’ said Caldwell.
While Caldwell is new to the area, he had roots in LaGrange already in place. He said his “spiritual mentors’ had moved to LaGrange and started the city’s homeless shelter, Branches of Hope. Caldwell can be found at the shelter on weekends, lending a hand.
Caldwell is working to get the word about the business out into the community, in need of the service. With multiple apartment complexes and housing being built, JC Movers aims to fill the need.
“There’s a lot of people here that think there’s going to be a lot of people moving in, based on the construction. So we’re excited to have the service y’all provide for our members,” said John Westmoreland, L-TCCC board chairman.
Many of Caldwell’s family were present, some even coming down from Ohio for the occasion. There were also some JC Mover employees and other business leaders in the community in attendance.
