LaGrange Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire at 1109 Elm Street

CITY OF LAGRANGE, GA. JULY 25TH, 2024 – On July 23, 2024 at 1:42 PM, LaGrange Fire Department units, along with a unit from the Troup County Fire Department, responded to a reported structure fire located at 1109 Elm Street. Upon arrival, fire crews encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the corner of the house.
Firefighters quickly assessed the situation and began a transitional attack and made entry through the back door. Fortunately, the fire was contained to one room, but there was smoke and heat damage throughout the rest of the home. A thorough search was completed and confirmed that no one was inside the residence.
The fire was under control by 2:00 PM and an estimated $35,000 worth of property and content loss was suffered. There were no reported injuries and the residents were referred to the Red Cross for assistance. The cause of the fire is undetermined but the investigation is still on-going.
