LaGrange is home for Marius Truitt. It’s the place he had called home his entire life. His roots are planted firmly into the soil of Troup County and he would have it no other way.
Truitt, 36, is the principal of Clearview Elementary School and has been working in education for 15 years, but is heading into just his first year as a principal and his fifth year as a school administrator. Truitt served as the Coordinator of Instructional Technology for the Troup County School System for several years before transitioning toward being a principal.
“My aspirations are to create a school community that is high achieving and where all students have a place to thrive and reach their fullest potential,” Truitt said. “My favorite thing about my job is getting to serve students and teachers while guiding our students to a bright future.”
Truitt has a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and a Specialist in Teacher leadership along with various other certifications he has earned over the years. Truitt got his master’s from LaGrange College in 2015 and has continued to add to his resume in the years since.
Bettering the youth has been a calling and a passion for Truitt as far back as he can remember. Over the years, he’s found ways to help students beyond the classroom.
“I created a boys leadership group that implemented leadership values and responsibilities that helped them to lead within their student communities and other areas of their lives,” Truitt said.
Truitt has also been an ambassador for the Troup March for Babies as he has consistently advocated for children of all ages.
Truitt is married to his wife Lindsey, who he calls “the most beautiful, loving, caring woman in LaGrange.” Truitt has two children, Stella (7) and Griffin (4).
When he is not leading young people to fulfill their potential, Truitt can be found spending time with his family, detailing cars, or attending Rosemont Baptist Church. Just do not get him confused with his fraternal twin.
