The National Football League is back as preseason is off and running. With the season getting ready to get into full swing, rookies are getting in on the action and Troup County will have its eyes on one rookie in particular: Jamari Thrash.
The former Troup Tiger made his NFL debut on Saturday as the Cleveland Browns hosted the Green Bay Packers for their opening game of the 2024 preseason. Thrash saw the field in the second quarter but was kept in check by the Packer defense. He would find his rhythm in the second half, catching three passes for 43 yards, all in the third quarter. His best play of the game came on a fingertip grab for a 22-yard gain, the biggest play on offense by Cleveland in the game.
Thrash ended the game as the Browns leading receiver in what ended up being a 23-10 loss for the home team.
Thrash and the Browns will be back on the gridiron next Saturday when they host the Minnesota Vikings.
