The LaGrange Fire Department is set to host its annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.
The stair climb will be held at Callaway Stadium on Wednesday, Sep. 11 starting at 8:30 a.m.
The public is invited to participate in the event as firefighters climb the equivalent of 110 stories, or 2,200 steps, to symbolize the steps climbed at World Trade Center towers on the firefighters’ journey to save lives.
The tradition began in 2018 when LaGrange firefighters first climbed the Callaway Stadium stairs to honor the 343 firefighters of the FDNY who died on Sep. 11, 2001.
Please join the LaGrange Fire Department as they honor and remember those mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, and uncles we lost on that tragic day. First responders, military, civilians, children, and all of those affected by this heartbreaking event 23 years ago are encouraged to join us.
Registration is $25 and all the proceeds will go to the Terry Farrell Firefighter Fund.
Registration will start at 8 a.m. on the morning of the event. LFD says t-shirts will be limited, so they recommend coming early.
