On September 17^th, 2024, the LaGrange Police Department received information that individuals are contacting citizens informing them that they have won the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes. They advise the individuals to put $500 dollars on a money card and wait for them to call back. The individuals then ask the victims to scratch off the CVV number(card verification code) on the back of the money cards and provide them with those specific numbers. At that point, they have access to the money. They will continue to call saying they need another $500 card to complete the transaction.

We are asking that citizens should you receive a call of this nature to simply hang up and do not give out any information to anyone.
