On Tuesday, LaGrange celebrated its 6^th annual National Night Out (NNO) campaign.

Overall NNO has been celebrated for 39 years across 23 states.

The free event, a public safety-themed fall festival, is held as a way for law enforcement agencies to develop positive relationships between the members of the community and public safety agencies including police, fire department, EMTs, animal control, water safety and sheriff’s department.

This year, NNO was hosted by the LaGrange Police Department and the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.

The parking lot of the Immanuel Ministries and Worship Center was the host site.

Along with local public safety agencies, area businesses and civic groups had tables set up along the perimeter of the festivities. All of the tables along with the agencies were either handing out information about their services, handing out goodies for the kids and doing activities.

In the background, music was played to help keep things lively.

Inflatable games were available to play where the children could earn tickets that they could later turn in for a toy or game of their choosing from a table loaded with items.

A small petting zoo with ducks, a pig, baby goats and rabbits was also onsite for the kids.

There were fire trucks, an ambulance, dogs from the animal shelter, police cars, the Jungle Bus and more for families to check out.

The adults were given raffle tickets for multiple giveaways which included gift certificates to restaurants or for haircuts, as well as a variety of other items.

For those who needed a snack, pizza was being given away and cotton candy was being freshly made and passed out.

Hundreds of people, of all ages, attended the festivities to show their support of our local public safety agencies.
