LAGRANGE, Georgia – On October 8, 2024, at approximately 8:24 AM, officers from the LaGrange Police Department responded to the 500 block of New Franklin Road (Ga HWY 1) in reference to a person who had been struck by a vehicle. The initial investigation revealed that the cyclist lost control of his bicycle while traveling north on the sidewalk. He then fell into the path of a tractor-trailer that was traveling north on the roadway. The victim was flown to an Atlanta area hospital to be treated for his injuries. This incident remains under investigation by the Traffic Unit.
