Downtown LaGrange was once again the place to be on Saturday as the Junior Service League (JSL) of LaGrange hosted its eighth annual Taste of the Town.

Dozens of restaurateurs, bakers, caterers, barbecuers, brewers and everything in between filled Overlook Plaza next to Wild Leap Brew Co. to share their tasty goods in a fun festival-style atmosphere, all while also serving a good cause.

The event serves as a fundraiser for JSL, which uses the money to support mini-grants to local non-profits including Good Sam Ministry, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, The Exceptional Way, Foster Christmas Hope, Harmony House, First Choice Women’s Center, Circles of Troup County, Safe Families for Children and LaGrange Art Museum.

The 2024 Taste of the Town Food & Drink lineup featured offerings from local favorites like Beacon Brewing, BJ’s Catering, Bray’s BBQ, Brickhouse Grille, Chica’s Empanadas, Chicken Salad Chick, Crave Cookies, Ellison Brothers BBQ, Elotes De LaGrange, Gus’s Grill, Holmes Pizza, Kona Ice, Mache’s Creations, Pinky’s Burgers, Rocket Ice Cream, The Curry Man, Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck, 505 Eats and Your Pie.

Artisans included: Art by Jade,  Be Happy Hat Design, Birdie Street, Chewy’s Freeze Dried Candy, Creative Call-Ins, Danielle Evans Design, Feather Branch Farm, Jezebell Design, Kimberleigh Kandles, Lions & Lambs Children’s Boutique, Nevaeh Seniah, Peachy T Design Studio, Pines and Pastures Homestead, Sisstuff Boutique, SpecialT Design, The Wild Daisy, Three Bears Candle Co, 3Ps Homestead, Tomberlin Originals and West Point Saponification.

Attendees were treated to live musical performances from Colorful Leah and The Raising Sand Band. The festival also included dance performances from Tumbletown 2 and Lafayette Center for Dance.

Kane Bradfield and Jack Mormon served as emcees for the event.

JSL plans to make Taste of the Town a twice yearly event, with another one set for the spring. The second festival will take the place of JSL’s longstanding Attic Sale, which is being sunsetted.
