A new type of clinic has come to town. Med2You, a direct primary care service, held its ribbon cutting on Tuesday at 411 S Greenwood Street. The business model is new to healthcare, said Rex Campbell, nurse practitioner and owner.

“It offers a subscription-based model in addition to cash pay…It’s becoming more well-known. You have an initiation fee and a monthly fee that includes your relationship with us,” Campbell said.

The subscription covers acute and chronic care management, telemedicine, unlimited visits, lab work and physicals throughout the year. Campbell said additional things needed can be charged at cost plus a small percentage.

The need for this style of healthcare, Campbell said, stems from his and his colleague’s experience working in emergency medicine.

“We have seen [patients] fall through the cracks and lack of follow-up after we see people in the emergency department, overutilization of the emergency department because they couldn’t get follow-up, inability to pay, inability to have insurance,” he said.

Med2You’s mission is to keep people out of the emergency room through preventive care and routine follow-ups.

“In sitting down and spending time with our patients, we’re finding opportunities for their health, be it undisclosed high blood pressure or thyroid situations or blood sugar issues,” Campbell said. “We’re getting ahead of it before it gets ahead of us.”

The nurse practitioner is the third generation of Troup County business owners. This includes the family business the Beauty Bar, which partners with Med2You for aesthetic services, like facials, laser, weight loss, etc.

The clinic includes Campbell as well as another veteran nurse practitioner, Rachel French and a Medical Director, Dr. Tisha Gallanter

“We’ve done it all, and we’ve built on experience and education to offer the absolute best that we can,” Campbell said. “It’s going to be the best that we can offer.”

For those interested in their services, Campbell recommends stopping by the S Greenwood location or going to their website Med2You.com. He adds anyone can call or text their number,  706-890-0687, with questions.

“We’re here,” Campbell said. “We want to give back to this community because it’s given so much to us for three generations. We’re here to make things better, to be better and to really redefine the relationship between you and your healthcare provider.”
