It is finally BreShun Hall’s time to shine. The 6’4 all-around athlete had to wait in the wings to make an impact on the gridiron for Callaway. After transferring in from Greenville last season, Hall sat out a year and was raring to go at the start of the 2024 campaign. Unfortunately, injuries delayed his debut until a week 5 win against Redan.

“The first two games were really tough because I knew I could help, but I couldn’t go,” Hall said. “It felt so good to get back because it was hard to just sit there and watch everybody play.”

Hall is a Swiss-army knife for the Cavaliers. He can line up just about anywhere on offense and plays defensive end as well.

“It helps that I have a strong bond with my teammates,” Hall said. “Blake (Harrington) is a good quarterback and our connection is strong.”

On offense, Hall is primarily used as a running back and tight end. The senior has three catches for 117 yards and three receiving touchdowns to go along with 15 carries for 81 yards and four rushing touchdowns in the first four games of his season.

Hall’s impact has been felt on the other side of the ball as well. The defensive end has nine total tackles, three tackles for a loss and a pass breakup to his name. Despite playing sparingly on defense in his first four games, Hall is tied for third on the team in tackles for a loss.

“I will play wherever coach asks me to,” he said. “I just want to go out there and play, I’ve already missed so much time.”

Despite not playing his junior season, Hall has received attention for the college ranks. He currently holds two Division I offers, one from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and the other from the University of West Georgia.

“It feels great because with my sitting out last year, I didn’t expect it,” Hall said. “I don’t know what position they want me at, but I know I will be ready for wherever the coaches ask me to play.”

Hall came to Callaway to be a part of a winning culture. The Cavaliers have embraced him and vice versa.

“I came here because I want to win a ring,” Hall said. “The culture is real here. Winning a ring is the only thing that we are after.”

Callaway was already a good team before Hall’s return against Redan, but getting the big man back just added another weapon for the formidable Cavaliers.

“We are ready to make a run,” he said. “We want to win state, we aren’t happy with just coming close.”
