The LaGrange softball team had a tremendous season, making it all the way to the Elite Eight. Despite the season coming to an end last week, the accolades are still rolling in for the Grangers. LaGrange has a whopping 12 players named to the All-Region teams/honorable mention list for Region 2-3A.

The Grangers saw seven of their players named to the first team. Senior Carolyne Garcia, the team’s starting first baseman, earned a spot on the first team and will be applying her craft at Southern Union next season. Fellow senior infield Abby McGill made it for her season at shortstop. Tatum Nation, the team’s senior catcher, was named to the first team for her role defensively and offensively.

The Grangers also had senior outfielders make the first team in Hudson Wood and Jasia Swanson. Utility player Ta’Niya Taylor, a junior, enjoyed a breakout season and will be one of the key returners for the Grangers next season. The team’s lone freshman starter Dakota McDaniel, an ace pitcher, made the first team for her work in the circle, but is also an outstanding outfielder.

The Grangers had two players named to the second team in junior Shelby Siggers and senior Kimberly Reynolds. Reynolds, originally a starter at third base, injured her shoulder in the first game of the season and was used only for offense until her season was shut down late in the year. While the season did not go according to plan, Reynolds will soon be playing college softball at Southwestern University. Siggers stepped in at third base and performed well as she will be a key player on the team again next season.

Senior second baseman Tatiana Dudley and senior pitchers Kaylee Foster and Zoe Thompson all made the honorable mention list for their contributions in their final seasons in blue and white.
