UPDATE: Synovus Bank robber arrested

On October 31, 2024, at approximately 1317 hours, a male dressed in similar attire as the suspect in this robbery (wig, sunglasses, surgical mask, and gloves) walked into the PNC Bank, 1417 Lafayette Pkwy, and presented a note and envelope from his pocket. Before giving the note to the teller, the male turned and left the location without further incident. (Reference LPD 2024104347)
On November 1, 2024, at approximately 1033 hours, Officers from the Newnan Police Department responded to AmerisBank, 102 Newnan Crossing Blvd, in reference to a robbery by a male in the same disguise who presented a note to the teller and made off with an undisclosed amount of money. Newnan PD officers were able to Identify and BOLO a suspect vehicle description. That vehicle was located in Roanoke, AL by the Roanoke Police Department, and the driver, Mack Carr, was detained. Subsequent search warrants of his residence and vehicle yielded numerous items of evidence to support that he was involved in both successful robberies and the robbery attempt. He is currently being held in Randolph County, AL awaiting extradition.
Carr is being charged with one count of Robbery of the Synovus Bank and one count of Robbery (Criminal Attempt) of the PNC Bank.

On Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 0954 hours, LaGrange Police responded to 200 North Greenwood Street in reference to a bank robbery. The initial investigation revealed that a white male subject entered the bank, approached the teller, provided a note, and demanded money. The male obtained an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency before fleeing the bank on foot. The male suspect was described as being 45 to 50 years old, approximately 6’00 in height, weighing approximately 220 pounds, wearing a baseball hat, medical type face mask, sunglasses, gloves, a blue button-down shirt, blue pants, and dark colored shoes.
