Troup alum Jamari Thrash (Class of 2019) is finally getting his chance at the NFL level. The Cleveland Browns rookie has bided his time and is now getting his chance to see the field and make an impact.

On Monday night, the Browns took on the Denver Broncos, losing a 41-32 thriller and Thrash had a chance to perform on the largest stage of his career so far.

Thrash had the first multi-catch game of his young NFL career, catching two passes for 11 yards. This comes just two games after catching the first pass of his NFL career against the New Orleans Saints, an 11-yard pass from Jameis Winston early in the fourth quarter of that contest.

All one would have to do is check the snap counts from the Browns games this year to see that Thrash has worked his way into a bigger role. Thrash saw the field for the first time in week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals, playing seven snaps. He did not play the following week before registering four snaps in week nine.

In the last three weeks, including Monday night, Thrash has registered double-digit snap counts in each — 14,12 and 15.

The 15 snaps he played against the Broncos on Monday night are the most of the season so far.

With Cleveland well out of the playoff hunt the Browns will likely continue to play the younger players on their roster to see which players will be worth keeping around in 2025. Thrash has a big opportunity ahead of him and he will aim to make the most of it as he did at Georgia State and Louisville as well as at Troup High. Thrash was named to the All-Conference team during his time as a Cardinal and Panther. He was an All-State player during his time at Troup.
