The LaGrange Academy boys basketball team had little trouble on Tuesday, dispatching Lafayette Christian 80-34 in a cross-town showdown.
It was all Warriors from the opening tip to the final buzzer. Lagrange Academy took a 26-10 lead after one quarter which then swelled up to 49-15 at halftime. The Warriors were able to take their foot off the gas in the second half with the outcome no longer in doubt. Jarvholm did the damage all over the court, connecting on five 3- pointers as well as knocking down all three of his free throws. It was a shooting clinic for the junior.
His running mate, Kayde Bradfield also had an impressive showing. The lightning quick guard finished with 24 points —- all in the first three quarters of play. Bradfield owned the second quarter with 13 points to all but put the game to bed early.
The next highest scoring Warriors were Andrew Knight and Owen Sells with five points apiece.
Payton Griggs did it all for the Cougars on Tuesday night, finishing with a team-high 24 points. He scored over 70% of the total points for the Cougars in the game, including all 13 of Lafayette Christian’s points in the third quarter. No other Cougar scored more than three points.
